This marks the first time that the survival specialist will debut on network television. The show will test teams of two in extreme conditions in the wild. NBC has commissioned eight episodes, with additional creative details to be released at a later date.
Bear Grylls will be wearing the Tried & Tested Autumn/Winter 2012 range of Bear Grylls by Craghoppers clothing which includes waterproof jackets, soft shell jackets, shirts and stretch trousers, all of which have been thoroughly tested by the man himself.

First launched in Spring/Summer 2008, the Bear Grylls by Craghoppers range is a highly technical yet fashionable collection of outdoor kit for men, women and children. As part of the on-going partnership, Bear will meet with Craghoppers’ designers four times a year to work on developing new products and product categories. In addition to developing the clothing range, Bear is involved with world-wide brand promotion and advertising.
“To meet Bear is to meet a force of nature,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “He is a magnetic and charismatic talent, whose infectious enthusiasm for adventure inspires people to push themselves beyond their limits. These contestants are in for the ride of their lives!”
“The programme will be raw, tough and unrelenting, but it will also inspire and teach the essentials that one day may just save your life," said Grylls. "The goal is to empower people with the ultimate in both survival and teamwork, and that brings incredible reward... but first there must be some pain.”
