Walk and win...

We all love to walk, whether its a long hike wearing our trusted walking trousers, a gentle weekend walk with friends or simply our daily walk into work.

Age Concern have organised a sponsored walk from 11th until 17th May in order to raise money for old and vulnerable people. Many of us across Britain will take on this challenge and help raise money for this worthy cause.

If you are participating and aim to get sponsored for each mile you walk then let us know about it! Even if you are not taking part, we want to know where you have walked to and how many miles you have walked this week.

The best walking story received will win a pair of our best selling Kiwi walking trousers worth £35! So get walking and get blogging!

Myself and my boyfriend went travelling from March 08 to Oct 08. I had a pair of Nosquito Lightweight trousers which were absolutely brilliant – especially in Malaysia and Thailand where I wanted to stay cool but keep covered up. I also had 3 Atoll t-shirts which still look as good as new, even though I wore them in every condition imaginable over the 8 months! Kate Honeybill.

bushcraft and survival competition winner

We are pleased to announce the winner of our recent competition, which featured in Bushcraft Magazine. Congratulations to Mike Potts who won a fantastic collection of Bear clothing.

" Firstly, thank you very much to Craghoppers for the kit.  I rarely win anything even though I try and enter as many competitions as I can, so this was a really pleasant - and welcome - surprise!  I'm a real 'outdoor' fan and enjoy climbing/mountaineering, hiking, running,  mountain biking, triathlon, foraging, camping and - of course- the bushcraft and survival related aspects.

I really like the Craghoppers micro-fleeces so was especially pleased to get another one - it's been my most-used item of clothing this winter.  They are an excellent layering garment and truly versatile as they are warm enough to be worthwhile carrying in winter and summer but compact enough to go easily under a technical-cut shell jacket and light enough that you don't overheat quickly.  I did some tree surgery courses last year in October/November and the microfleece was excellent both on the ground-based units and the climbing units.

The trousers were very comfortable and practical - the stretch material, reinforced knees and convenient pockets are real pluses so I look forward to summer alpine climbing in these. I wish I'd had the winter exped trousers on my tree surgery course as the stretch would have been really useful for the tree climbing training!

The long-sleeved top is a great leisure garment; again, very comfortable.

I've enjoyed Bear's TV programmes and he has been to some truly inspiring locations.  I hope one day to have the opportunity to visit some of them myself, especially Patagonia.

So, once again, many thanks for sorting me out with some excellent outdoor clothing - it's really appreciated and you can rest assured that it will all get a suitably hard pasting on my travels!

Coast Competition winner Lucy McGhin

A competition offering the chance for one lucky Coast reader to win either the mens World First GORE-TEX jacket or the women's New World GORE-TEX Jacket was snapped up by Lucy McGhin. She very kindly sent us a few photos wearing her prize with pride.

Here at Craghoppers we love Autumn. We all look forward to donning our lovely warm Crags gear and stepping out into the great outdoors, fully prepared for whatever the elements have to throw at us! So to celebrate the launch of the new series of BBC 2's Autumn Watch which started on the 5th November we gave one lucky person the chance to win a Craghoppers Kiwi outfit worth £210.

Competiton Winner Spots The Craghoppers Bus!

After entering a recent Craghoppers competition in Country Living Magazine, Dawn Hanson was chosen as our lucky winner and received the great prize of £500 worth of clothes.

After donning her brand new walking trousers, she put them to the test by completing an 8 mile walk in Lake Windermere. We are especially pleased that her trousers managed to keep her cool and comfortable in the scorching summer heat and we are even happier that she managed to spot our very own Craghoppers endorsed bus whilst in Windermere!

The open top bus which is adorned with Craghoppers clothing is the famous number 555 and is an excellent way to see the whole of the Lakes. Travelling from Lancaster to Keswick, it is loved by tourists wanting to see the whole area and by locals who use the bus as a regular service.

Once again, we would like to congratulate Dawn and thank her for sending in such great photos! If you happen to see the bus too, let us know!

Win a Fleece

Your thirst for adventure never fails to delight and amaze us and your stories have been flooding in over the last few weeks. One lady toured Poland on horseback while others have done everything from local walks to climbing Table Mountain.

But the chance to win a fleece is now over and the lucky winner is Katharine Kinney from Belfast. After struggling through the cold, wet weather in Iceland, she then cycled onto Lake Myvatn to witness the magnificent views before warming up in the hot thermal pools after a hot ribena and the loan of her partner's fleece!
